Please note:
A G.A.T.E.WAYS Supervisor will always be at the venue or outside the venue by enrolment time. They will be wearing an id on a blue lanyard, have the roll and your emergency contact details. If you cannot see the Supervisor or signs pointing you inside the school to a meeting point, you may be at the wrong venue or wrong entrance. If you are lost, or your child is suddenly unable to attend on the first day, please contact Win on 0418 133 002 or Jill on 0407 550 974 (the office won't open till 9am).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ACMI - The Australian Centre for the Moving Image

Federation Square, Flinders Street, Melbourne
ACMI is between Federation Square and Flinders Street and has entrances to the foyer on both sides. G.A.T.E.WAYS will be at the Federation Square entrance. It is walking distance from Flinders Street Station, head east across St Kilda Road into Federation Square and look for the ACMI sign on the buildings to your left.

Bonbeach Primary School

Breeze street runs off Station Street which runs parallel to the Nepean Highway on the other side of the railway line. Bonbeach Primary School is around the corner from the Patterson River Country Club entrance which is also signposted from Station Street.

The Digital Hub, Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre

Meeting point: meet near the Information Desk, St Kilda Road level of the Theatre Building (building with the Spire) in the Arts’ Centre.

Entrance marked on the map below.


The children will spend the day working in the Ballet Centre at 2 Kavanagh St, Southbank, directly behind the building with the spire.

The Art Centre is a 3 minute walk from Flinders Street station, is tram stop number 14 on St Kilda Road, or, if you drive in, you may be interested in the -> Art Centre parking information.

Alternatively, if you are asked to meet at The Digital Hub itself, please proceed through or around the art centre to locate the footbridge directly behind it that goes over Sturt St. There is a statue of a ballerina next to the path. Cross the footbridge to the Ballet Centre and go to the first door on your right, this will be the reception area for the Digital Hub. (Levels 1-3 of The Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre are public carpark, so if you park there, look for The Digital Hub on level 4. When you step out of the elevators you should be able to see the exit to the footbridge across Sturt St. Look for the reception area on the left near that exit.)

From Melbourne:
Take the Calder Freeway to the Macedon/Mt Macedon exit (VicRoads no. C322).
From the roundabout, travel approx. 9 kilometres along Mt Macedon Road, passing the Mt Macedon Golf Club and Mt Macedon Primary School on the left and The Mt Macedon Trading Post and 'Sefton' homestead on the right (at Pinchoff Lane).
Turn left into Officer Lane. Should you reach the Mt Macedon Memorial Cross turnoff, you have gone too far.

From the north:
Take the Calder Freeway to the Woodend/Romsey exit (VicRoads no. C324), turning left.
Travel approx. 4 kilometres to the Mt Macedon turn off, turning right into Straws Lane.
Turn left at the "T-intersection", onto Mt Macedon Road (VicRoads no. C322).
Travelling over Mt Macedon, you will pass the Mt Macedon Memorial Cross turnoff, on the right. Officer Lane is approx. 1.5 kilometres further, also on the right.

Parking:
Parking is available around the venue, but there are all-day, 2-hour, 1/4 hour, and Loading Zones at various times - please read the parking signs. Please also note that U-turns are not permitted in Arden Street (single white line).

* by train (closest station is North Melbourne, 10 minute walk down Laurens Street)
* by tram (closest stop is No 15 on Abbotsford Street on route 57, 5 minute walk down Arden Street)

Firbank Learning Centre - FLiC, Firbank Grammar Senior Campus

Firbank Learning Centre is located at the Senior Girls' Campus at Firbank and shared by Firbank and Brighton Grammars. Enter off Barkly Street just down from the corner of Barkly and Outer Crescent. The Firbank Learning Centre is near the side gate on Barkly St which will be marked by a yellow flag. If you enter via this gate, head towards the 2nd door to the right.

Fitzroy Primary has a beautiful turn of the century building on George Street and ashphalt courts that back onto Napier Street. On the other side of Napier Street is a 70s-styled two story building. This is where G.A.T.E.WAYS is being held. Enter the western site from Napier Street near where the road narrows to only let bicycles through. G.A.T.E.WAYS Supervisors should be visible directly ahead in the porch area.
Fitzroy Primary is a quick walk in from Brunswick St, and trams run every 10-15 mins directly up Brunswick Street from Parliament Station.

The Mousehole/Schools Entrance, National Gallery of Victoria, St Kilda Road, Southbank
The National Gallery is the large rectangular building just south of the Spire on St Kilda Road. We are meeting outside the Mousehole, which is an aptly-named smaller arch doorway on the north face of the building. "Schools Entrance Only" is printed on the doors. Facing the Mousehole you will have the building with the spire behind you and some teepee-like installations just to your right.

Oakleigh Primary School
